Alex & Patrick’s Philadelphia Engagement Session
Photographing my couples at all kinds of incredible locations fills me with joy, but engagement sessions dipped in nostalgia and a personal touch definitely take the cake. When my couples connect with places that hold a special corner in their hearts, photographing them feels even more rewarding! My tryst with Alex and Patrick was something similar while photographing their engagement shoot at the Gayborhood and Logan Square in Philadelphia. As my couple reminisced about the time they had spent in these places together and how these neighborhoods had a role to play in their sweet love story, I focused on taking some beautiful shots to bring out their chemistry through my images, and to Alex and Patrick, I’d say, you two made my job so easy!
Gayborhood & Logan Square Engagement Session
Alex and Patrick had first met on a whirlwind weekend in Philadelphia’s Gayborhood area and instantly became inseparable. No wonder my couple wanted to make this place a part of their engagement photos. During the shoot, we dropped in at Alex and Patrick’s favorite bar and then visited some of their other favorite spots around the area. We even stopped by the first apartment the couple shared together. How could I not take a few candid images of my couple with their old nook in the backdrop? I photographed my couple as they walked through the lanes lined with beautiful trees and even captured them against all the gorgeous red-bricked buildings as they shared a smile and stole a glance.
At Logan Square, I took some solo portraits of Alex and Patrick before photographing them together again. Their images taken against the picturesque cityscape and the lovely pink bougainvillea bushes turned out to be stunning.
As Patrick was a swimmer growing up, it felt appropriate for our last stop to be the fountain at Logan Square. The couple even popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate this special day. For me, the highlight of the day was jumping in the fountain with Alex and Patrick! I loved how these two were ready for anything! They were undoubtedly one of the most fun couples I’ve had the opportunity to work with, and there was not a single dull moment throughout the day. Their energy was just so lovely and fun!
